Weltbilder: ATLANTINNEN and the Sustaining of the World
Artist Talk in the Frame of the Exhibition ATLANTINNEN. deep dive. measuring. spirit. 52°/13°

at Deustcher Künstlerbund
Moderation: Dr. Almut Hüfler
How can we find orientation in a globalized world coming apart at the seams — one in which reality and virtuality compete, distances become relative, and borders are shifted by military force? What role can artists play in this situation?
The artist trio ATLANTINNEN — Elvira Lantenhammer, Monika Linhard, and Zuzanna Skiba — speaks with curator Dr. Almut Hüfler about perceiving the world, cartography, and immersion in outer and inner landscapes. All three move not only through geographic territories, but cross borders, traverse spaces of memory and mood, reflect on diverse cultural conditioning, and on the often contradictory experiences of their present.
In their work, »landscape« becomes a philosophical way of being in the world. As ATLANTINNEN, they set against the self-referentiality of contemporary political systems an allocentric frame of reference for the future — one oriented toward a fact-based reality and the needs of the planetary collective.
