Closing event »When The Light Goes Out«
Lecture and concert with physicist Dr. Sebastian Öner from Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society, and with cellist Cosima Gerhardt and accordionist Christine Paté, who will perform two compositions by Johannes Sandberger, including a première.

Our current exhibition »When The Light Goes Out« brings together four contemporary artists whose work deals with one of the most urgent issues of our times, the energy and climate crisis, focussing on the inseparable links between humans, technology, economy, and ecology. The closing event links the works on show with current insights from the natural sciences and with recent musical compositions. The key question here is that of approach: how can basic scientific research and artistic practice enrich one another?

Dr. Sebastian Öner from the Fritz Haber Institute of the Max Planck Society will speak about the current state of research concerning the sustainable production of hydrogen and ammonia, including its relevance to sustainable mobility. Cosima Gerhardt and Christine Paté will then perform new compositions by Johannes Sandberger, who has translated moods and worries sparked by the energy crisis into sounds. His work »Wenn das Licht ausgeht« will have its première in the exhibition of the same name.

The event will be moderated by the artist and composer Johannes Sandberger.
